Islay is, of course, renowned for its whisky, and The Lochside, which is just a stone’s throw from Bowmore Distillery, is home to an incredible collection of over 200 bottles. 

From the teenage spirit of Ardbeg’s Very Young to the mature flavours of a 42 year old Black Bowmore, The Lochside’s whisky range showcases the fascinating range of styles and flavours that makes Islay whisky so captivating. Our collection also captures moments in time – from Bowmore Sherriff’s Islay Single Malt bottled in the 1970s, to more recent Fèis Ìle releases and distillery exclusives.

While we hold many rare and unique bottlings, our gantry is home to extensive ranges from each of Islay’s distilleries – from the core ranges to a variety of different styles and finishes - offering something for everyone.

We create bespoke whisky flights for guests – everyone’s palate, preferences and budget is different and, for us, drams are all about good conversation so our amazing team will chat to you about all things whisky - from your flavour preferences to which distilleries you’ve visited - and curate a bespoke selection of three drams.

And we're not all about whisky at The Lochside! We have a great selection of local gins, including Nerabus and The Botanist from Islay as well as Lussa from the neighbouring Isle of Jura; Earra Gael Salt Vodka – a collaboration between Beinn an Tuirc Distillers in Kintyre and Islay’s Orsay Sea Salt; small-batch Deer Island rum from Jura and rums from Islay Rum; and a wonderful wine list!
